Mathew Baker, Chief Pilot. Mat is a military trained pilot and engineer who served the majority of his air force time with 1 squadron maintaining the F111. Since leaving the Air Force, Mat converted his military licence to civilian and now holds a Multi-Engine Command Instrument Rating, Instructor Rating and Agricultural Rating Grade 1. Mat is qualified to fly all of the Pay’s Air Charter aircraft, and regularly flies the Air Tractor 802 on fire bombing and aerial application work, as well as conducting aerobatic and scenic flights in the warbirds. Originally from Victoria and via Queensland, Mat now lives in Scone with his wife and 3 children.
Nick Wilson, Senior Pilot. Nick is also a military trained pilot, who upon leaving the air force began instructing at Cessnock near his hometown of Scone. After 18 months as an instructor, Nick began flying casually for Pay’s Air Charter and for the last 2 ½ years has been full time with us. Nick flies all of the Pay’s Air Charter aircraft, and holds a degree in technology specialising in aviation, Multi Engine Command Instrument rating and a Grade 2 Instructor Rating.
Pay’s Air Charter head office is located at Scone Airport, Bunnan Rd, Scone NSW 2337. Scone is situated in the north of the Hunter Valley and is supported by the equine, coal and wine industries. It is approximately 130km south of Tamworth and 270 Km from Sydney and 700km from Brisbane - this centralised location allows us to easily service the Sydney basin, NSW Coast, Brisbane and Western NSW, and avoids the on charge of costs associated with basing aircraft at major airports.
Pay’s regularly fly into a variety of locations ranging from large international Airports such as Sydney, Brisbane and Canberra to regional airports including Tamworth, Moree, Port Macquarie, Bankstown, Dubbo, Coffs Harbour and the greater Newcastle Area. We have done charters all over NSW, Victoria, Tasmania and Queensland as well as running regular scenic flights through Central Australia.
